Slums of Phnom Penh



Extreme poverty is only one of the issues facing Cambodia. Many of the problems are the result of the genocide carried out by Pol Pot, who murdered 25% of the population of the country. There are others problems in the same category, but additional problems are the result of corruption, a system negatively influencing all of S.E. Asia and yes, places like the U.S.A. too. The human result of some of this is illustrated by the "living" conditions of the family of four. The photo shows their "home." (copyright Cal Thai 2011)
